"...Voice is how we connect. When a birth worker captures the truth of what happened, that truth becomes a record. It honors the care that was given, and it holds up over time. Protect the integrity of the record, and you protect the integrity of a life."

Why MIA Exists

The bridge between
care and coverage.

Up to $0 per pregnancy is set aside to cover doula care. Most of it goes unclaimed. Not because the care didn’t happen, but because documentation breaks down before a claim ever reaches the payer. In Oklahoma, SoonerCare funds more than 0 births a year. The care is consistent. The paper trail is where it falls apart.

Total transparency.

Payers already fund this care, and the reimbursement is there. What went missing was the accountability between the people providing care and the plans paying for it. MIA closes that gap with clean, visit-level records that both sides can verify and stand behind.

“I love what you’re building. I’m even more excited that more insurance payers are letting providers bill for these services. A doula gives dedicated care right alongside the OB.”
Kay Ward, Healthcare Credentialing Leader, Houston, Texas

For Doulas

Speak freely.
MIA does the rest.

After a visit, open MIA and just talk for about 90 seconds, in your own words. MIA checks what you said against your state’s requirements and builds a clean, submission-ready record. It stays in your voice and becomes a lasting record of the care you gave. Starting in Oklahoma, it gives your Medicaid plan the documentation it needs to reimburse that visit.

“I love this. The doulas I mentor could really benefit from something like this. Documentation is one of the top challenges we have with them.”
Jacquelyn Clemmons, Systems Change Advocate, South Carolina
Just Talk
Speak naturally after your visit. No templates, no checkboxes, no clinical words required. MIA understands how doulas talk about their work.
Checked As You Go

About the Founder
Mia Woodson

Built by someone who was in that room.

Mia Woodson is a U.S. Army veteran, mother of four, and has called Oklahoma home for nearly twenty years. In the Army, she coordinated large-scale training operations across complex logistics systems, where every person, supply, and timeline had to be accounted for with precision. Years later, as a practicing birth doula in Oklahoma, she watched that same discipline go missing in the one system that needed it most.

The care was happening every day. The documentation, coordination, and pay were not keeping pace. It was not a failure of effort. It was a structural gap. So she built PDI, applying the operational rigor she developed in the Army to a corner of perinatal care that had gone underdocumented for far too long.

"...Voice is how we connect. When a birth worker captures the truth of what happened, that truth becomes a record. It honors the care that was given, and it holds up over time. Protect the integrity of the record, and you protect the integrity of a life."

For Payers & MCOs

Outcomes you can trust,
from the first visit.

MIA gives Medicaid plans and state agencies clean, verifiable, FHIR-ready records from every community doula visit, plus the anonymized outcomes and network visibility you need to grow doula coverage with confidence.

Drops into your system

Records arrive in the standard format your health data tools already read, so nothing gets retyped or cleaned up by hand. (FHIR-ready.)

Outcomes you can see

Anonymized results across the doula workforce. Visits completed, postpartum follow-through, in a form you can actually use.

Know your network

See who is active and how many visits they are doing, without manual audits or claim-by-claim digging.

Verified work before it reaches you

Every visit is checked against your state’s rules first.

The care was always real. Now it counts.
